PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR

 

Bonar Plastics Inc., a leading manufacturer of plastic material handling container systems, is seeking a hands-on and experienced Production Supervisor for its West Chicago, IL operation.  This position requires a work schedule of 5-6 days a week with flexibility in overlapping day and evening hours.

This is a position that would fit the career development of a candidate with over 5 years of progressive supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.  A B.S. in Business, Engineering, or Operations Management is a plus.  Individuals need the mental maturity and temperamental ability to maintain good employee relations and skill in solving manufacturing challenges. Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is a plus.

This position is responsible for:

• Maintaining a high visual profile in the Rotational Molding and Assembly Department making frequent personal spot checks to observe departmental activities.

• Supervising between 30 – 35 production workers.

• Determining if work schedules are being met, supervising necessary adjustments or repairs to resume and maintain production standards and meet all cycle times without sacrificing production quality.

• Managing production so as to optimize machine efficiency and minimize rejections.

• Insuring safe working conditions for all employees and maintaining proper housekeeping.

• Preparing operational reports, graphs, and/or charts on efficiency and quality of the plant operation.  Computer proficiency is a must.

• Cooperating with the Human Resource Department in hiring, training and retaining the workforce.
   
• Enforces safety practices and rules within the plant.
